How to read the observed groceries price list

Udgivet

What an observation on Observed Prices actually tells you, and how to use it before you buy Observed groceries.

Every entry under Observed groceries is a price observation: a price recorded at a source on a date. It is a record of what was shown at that moment, not a promise of what you will pay today. Treat it the way you would treat a photo of a shelf label — useful, dated, and worth re-checking.

Because of that, the date matters as much as the number. A grocery price can move between visits, and an observation that is weeks old describes a past state of the listing. Open the source before you decide, and compare what you see there against what was recorded here.

A saving or a previous price appears only when the source itself supplied an earlier price at the time of observation. Where no earlier price was published, nothing is shown. We do not reconstruct, estimate, or round prices to fill a gap.
